The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken steps to temporarily close down Sri Lanka embassy in Oslo, the Kingdom of Norway, the Sri Lankan Embassy in Baghdad, the Republic of Iraq and the Sri Lanka Consulate General in Sydney, the Commonwealth of Australia.
Following the closure of two resident missions, the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Stockholm, Sweden will be accredited to Norway while the Ambassador of Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi, the UAE will be accredited to Iraq. The Consulate jurisdiction of the Consulate General in Sydney will thereby revert to the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Canberra, Australia.
