A decades old ban on night flights for domestic airlines has been lifted by the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka Captain Themiya Abeywickrama. The ban was lifted with the approval of the State Minister of Aviation, D. V Chanaka.
This initiative helps in avoiding unplanned overnight stays for crew and passengers which is an added cost for operators.
