Sustainability is increasingly shaping how organisations approach strategy, risk, governance and long-term value creation. For Directors and senior executives, understanding these areas is becoming essential to making informed decisions and responding to changing regulatory, stakeholder and business expectations.
Recognizing this need, the Sri Lanka Institute of Directors (SLID), in collaboration with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), is offering the internationally recognized Certificate in Sustainability Strategy and Management to corporate leaders in Sri Lanka.
The programme is designed to help participants understand how sustainability can be incorporated into organizational strategy and decision-making, while strengthening their awareness of governance, accountability, stakeholder engagement and long-term value creation.

Creating Stronger Foundations in Sustainability Strategy
The Certificate in Sustainability Strategy and Management introduces participants to an array of areas that are receiving increased attention from corporate decisionmakers, including strategy development, governance and accountability, stakeholder engagement and creating long-term value.
Participants will gain an understanding of how sustainability strategies can be designed and integrated into wider organizational goals, enabling them to approach sustainability not as a standalone issue, but as a strategic component integral to a well-managed organization.
The corporate governance and accountability section examine the linkages between corporate accountability, responsible decision-making, governance mechanisms and sustainable practices.
As stakeholder engagement is another key component of the program, participants will be introduced to the role of engagement and transparency in cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders. Finally, the program will address the importance of long-term value creation as participants develop the skills needed to understand how sustainable approaches can enhance organization resilience and deliver social, economic and environmental benefits over time.

The Certificate in Sustainability Strategy and Management provides a formal learning opportunity for participants to strengthen these insights through comprehensive program content covering key topics of sustainability and strategic management.
Online and self-directed, the Certificate in Sustainability Strategy and Management takes approximately 20-25 hours of learning and is certified by ACCA upon completion.
Special rates are available to SLID Members at LKR 160,000 (GBP 352) for a group of 6-10 participants; the standard rate is LKR 180,500 (GBP 400).
