The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has reported a significant financial loss of Rs. 29.15 billion for the quarter ended 31 December 2025, according to its latest financial statements.
This marks a sharp reversal compared to the Rs. 603 million profit recorded in the corresponding quarter of 2024, reflecting a 4,929% decline in profitability year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the CEB’s total loss for the full year 2025 stands at Rs. 38.73 billion. This compares with a total profit of Rs. 141.60 billion reported for the 2024 financial year.
