Sea Master Group inaugurated its second Integrated Logistics Centre (ILC) on Thursday (11), in Hendala, Wattala, strengthening Sri Lanka’s logistics infrastructure and reinforcing its vision of becoming a regional logistics hub. The facility is strategically located just 8 to 9 kilometres from the Port of Colombo, offering customers faster and more efficient access to port-related services.
The new centre, developed on 5.5 acres, represents a significant investment in Sri Lanka’s logistics sector and marks another milestone in Sea Master Group’s 23-year journey as one of the country’s leading private sector logistics providers.
Sea Master Group Chairman Taarik Booso said they invested Rs 500 million in the second Integrated Logistics Centre in Wattala, following the launch of its first hub in Kapuwatta, Ja Ela in 2017. The first phase of the project is already operational and includes container storage facilities, container repair and maintenance services, and laden container handling capabilities. A weighbridge facility and 50 reefer plug-in points are expected to become fully operational within the coming month.
Booso also announced plans for further expansion, with a second phase scheduled to begin within the next six months. The expansion will add an additional three acres, including modern warehousing facilities and increased container storage capacity to meet growing demand.
