Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), the national body of marketing in Sri Lanka recently concluded the SLIM DIGIS 2.1 award ceremony on January 26 at the Monarch Imperial under the event theme ‘Digital at Heart’. The awards ceremony was attended by Chief Guest, Oshada Senanayake, Chairman of Information Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka and Guest of Honour, R. M. P Dayawansa, Past President of SLIM along with other dignitaries and esteemed personalities in the digital marketing fraternity.
SLIM DIGIS was held for the third consecutive year, and it is the only dedicated awards event that recognizes the innovations, budding talents and provides due recognition to professionals of the Digital Marketing sphere. Similar to the previous years, SLIM DIGIS 2.1 featured the main and special awards categories which recognized the best Digital Marketing efforts from a range of sectors including Banking and Finance, Insurance, Telecommunication /IT /Internet, Leisure/ Hospitality/ Travel and Tourism and many more.
With over 140 entries received for SLIM DIGIS 2.1, this year saw a total of 06 Gold award winners, 26 Silver award winners and 10 Bronze award winners. Digibrush Production (Pvt) Ltd sealed its spot as the digital marketing agency with the most number of awards received that evening; bagging a cumulative 11 awards which included 03 Gold, 04 Silver and 03 Bronze awards. Softlogic Group of Companies received the most number of awards by a Company/Group and the night ended on a high note as Blok & Dino Productions (Pvt) Ltd with National Development Bank and contributing agency Digibrush Productions (Pvt) Ltd took home the coveted Digital Marketing Grand Prix 2.1 Award for the successful digital marketing campaign “No Money Medley”.
Speaking at the conclusion of the event, Thilanka Abeywardena, President of SLIM stated “As an industry leader, SLIM has identified the need to recognize and empower companies navigating the Digital Marketing sector to launch digital initiatives of global standards. Digital Marketing is a key aspect of a business’s everyday communication, and it is at the heart of everything we do in this new digital age. With the outpouring of entries received for SLIM DIGIS 2.1, we would like to extend our warmest wishes to those who applied and the evening’s winners. The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) is the apex body for Sri Lankan Marketers, which was founded in 1970 and subsequently incorporated by an act of Parliament in 1980, recognizing it as the National Body for Marketing and a ‘not-for-profit’ organization. SLIM has been promoting marketing excellence and elevating the status of marketing in Sri Lanka since its inception in 1970. In addition, SLIM is the host and also the principal partner in Sri Lanka’s most acclaimed and reputed awards ceremonies such as SLIM Kantar Peoples Awards, SLIM Brands Excellence, NASCO and Effie awards.
